May 1, 2021 - May 31, 2021
Here is our SAWUURA schedule for May. Reservations are highly recommended for stays in the winter cabin but tent camping is easily available.
Weekend of
May 7-10 forest bathing (shinrin-yoku)
This will be a quiet and meditative weekend. Eb will provide guided hikes on Saturday and Sunday, destinations to be decided by the participants.
Campers will be encouraged to identify a personal tree to adopt.
Weekend of May 14-17
Inner Child Weekend
When was the last time you played Duck, Duck, Goose?
We’ll be big kids this weekend. Plenty of colored pencils and art pages for drawing. Hide and Go Seek anyone?
How about Two Truths and a Lie around the campfire?
Christine will be bringing her massage table.
Weekend of May 21-24
Wildlife weekend
We’ll have an emphasis on observing wildlife and signs of their presence this weekend. The summer birds have been returning so we’ll spend time at the spring. Bring your good camera.
Weekend of May 28-31
Memorial Day weekend
Priority for families with children this weekend. School should be over and Eb will lead programs pertaining to the ecology of the Sierra Anches and the wild foods that are available here. A hike to the modest Mogollon Culture archeological ruin north of camp.
Christine will bring her massage table again.
Our covid protocol will remain in effect with a limit of 11 campers and no more than 3 parties.
May first is our membership renewal date. We are honoring members who have joined or renewed their memberships during covid quarantine for the 2021-2022 season.
